My Bharathanatyam Journey and Salangai Pooja


 I started learning Bharathanatyam when I began my A/Ls. Soon, I joined a formal Bharathanatyam class because I really enjoyed it. My teacher was Pavithra Buddhini Miss, who is very kind and patient. Although there were other students in the class, we all learned together. For about a year, we practiced the basic steps and traditions of Bharathanatyam. After that, we celebrated our Salangai Pooja ceremony. It took place on 31st December 2022. That day is unforgettable for me. After years of learning, I have now completed the Bharathanatyam Visharad exam. I am eagerly waiting to see the results of my exam. I hope to continue learning and improving in this beautiful art in the future.

A Beautiful Step in My Kathak Journey

 My Kathak Gunguru Poojawa was another beautiful day in my dancing life. At first, I started dancing because my teacher encouraged me, but now I like Kathak very much. During the Gunguru Poojawa ceremony, I wore the gunguru for Kathak. After that, I also did my Praveshika exam. Dancing with gunguru is not an easy thing. When we dance wearing gunguru, our legs can hurt a lot. But I really like the sound of the gunguru when I dance. It makes the dance more beautiful and special. That day is a day I will never forget in my life. It was a great opportunity to take another step forward in my dancing journey. I am very excited to learn more about Kathak in the future.

  Anuradhapura is a very famous historical place in Sri Lanka. It is a very old city. Anuradhapura was the first kingdom of Sri Lanka. There are many temples in Anuradhapura.Some of them are Ruwanweliseya, Jetavanaramaya, and Abhayagiriya ect. There are also many tanks in Anuradhapura, such as Tissa Wewa, Kala Wewa, and Nuwara Wewa ect. Lots of people visit Anuradhapura every year. Because of that, Anuradhapura is a very important historical place in our country.
